A touch of ingenuity. A step ahead, toward a future enjoyed with space.

In recent times, the COVID-19 pandemic has provided increased opportunities to rethink work styles, housing, and lifestyles. Takagi Building, aiming to create new value in real estate, proposes not just the physical aspect of property, but a way of living that brings “breathing room.” Its ongoing condominium brand, “BIRTH IN-RESIDENSE,” is conceptualized around creating a gradient between active and private time, allowing residents to freely enjoy “working” and “living” in their own unique way. In contrast, “Hitotoki-an” embraces the concept of “living with space.”

It aims to enrich the lives of families raising children by offering not just a clear separation between work and leisure, but relaxed, extra moments that enhance daily life. First Floor Plan The defining feature is “Hitotoki-an,” a resident-exclusive space on the first floor. This area, featuring a shoe-friendly dining & kitchen space and sofa seating, serves as a common area for residents and can be used to gather guests. Natural wood is used in the approach leading from the entrance inward, with the scent of cypress gently bridging the exterior and interior. Amidst increased time spent at home, Hitotoki-an embodies a lifestyle gradient born from moments spent in this transitional space between inside and outside.

It is a condominium brand packed with features designed to enrich daily living.

Supporting growing outdoor needs and hobbies All seven residential units feature simple yet distinct interior designs to accommodate diverse styles. They also include “MyCura,” lockable storage units with free access like a warehouse, catering to the growing demand for outdoor activities.

Hitotoki-an: Infusing tradition and a touch of whimsy into the “white space” Named

”Hitotoki-an” by combining “Hitotoki” (meaning “a moment”) with the traditional word “an” (meaning “hut”) to emphasize the property’s defining feature—its earthen-floored space—and to express the wish for residents to enjoy fleeting moments. The name is deliberately rendered in katakana to enhance its Japanese resonance.
The logo design is based on a shape reminiscent of the “mark” (印) used historically in Japan. To embody the concept of enjoying negative space, the logo is designed so that the characters for “Hitotoki” become visible when you look closely at the gaps. While playful in name and logo, it was crafted to evoke a sense of Japanese tradition and dignity, aiming to be cherished by many for years to come.

The value of “enriching daily life” that elevates the worth of small-scale condominiums

President and Representative Director of Takagi Building Co., Ltd. Hidekuni Takagi
Hitotoki-an was conceived with the desire for residents to enjoy a richer condominium life, free from constraints and filled with creative ideas. As time spent at home increases, we believe moments spent seamlessly blending family, friends, and personal time between indoors and outdoors enrich daily living. While creating this extra space was typically difficult to achieve in small-scale condominiums from a yield perspective, following the worker-oriented “BIRTH IN-RESIDENSE,” the “Hitotoki-an” brand, launched as a family-type condominium, has convinced us that it can enhance the value of small-scale properties in the market. This is because it allows owners seeking to utilize their land effectively to reflect the value of enriching residents’ lives in the rent. Moving forward, we hope to see small-scale properties become more active and enjoyable within the real estate industry, and we intend to continue taking on new challenges.
